Promises
” Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgement, but has passed from death into life. John 5:24 NKJV
Everlasting life, no judgement, life instead of death.
” Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him. ” John 6:27 NKJV
There are two kinds of food available for our consumption. There is the food offered by this world and there is the food offered by Jesus Christ.
And Jesus said to them, ” I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. John 6:35 NKJV
Jesus is the great I Am and yet makes Himself available as daily bread. What bread it is! He who eats of this bread will never hunger.
” This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die. John 6:50 NKJV
” Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. John 6:54 NKJV
The body and blood of Jesus Christ remain the only wellspring of eternal life. All of man’s attempts at achieving immortality are utter foolishness.
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, ” I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life. ” John 8:12 NKJV
The world is utterly dark. We are all blind men stumbling about. Do you need light? Jesus Christ is The Light of the world. Embrace Him. Trust Him.
” And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. ” John 8:32 NKJV
Truth has a name.
” Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. John 8:36 NKJV
If you are in bondage, spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, financially or socially, you can seek freedom from many sources. Only Christ offers true freedom and deliverance.
” Most assuredly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he shall never see death. ” John 8:51 NKJV
Jesus reminds us that there is a connection between obedience ( the keeping of His Word ) and eternal life. We are saved by faith but works always follow. We cannot separate faith from works.
” I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death. Revelation 1:18 NKJV
