LETTER XII

Greetings in The Name of Jesus Christ, The Light of the world,

All true believers have discharged faith for their salvation. This, however, is the limit of faith execution for most christians. Many christians even struggle with the discharging of faith for salvation. Faith must be continually exercised in order to grow. A reasonable goal is to obtain a mustard seed of faith. ( see Luke 17:6 )

There are two extremes, involving faith, in the Body of Christ today. The first is the idea that faith is something we use to shower ourselves with temporal blessings of the world. The book of James gives us strong warnings about this mind set.

You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. James 4:2-4 NKJV

The second extreme is to ask for nothing. This is just as egregious. This is spiritual poverty, ignorance, and laziness. Jesus reinforces this point in the following verses.

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7 NKJV

” If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! Matthew 7:11 . NKJV

For what purpose do the hundreds of promises from God’s Word serve if not to bless His beloved children?

The proper balance between these two extremes is proper relationship. Remember The Garden? We were created to walk daily with The Lord in The Garden. This intimate walk is now possible because of Jesus Christ’s death and the indwelling of The Holy Spirit. This is God’s highest desire and purpose for us. This desire to walk with Father must be our highest intent. If this is your heart’s desire and you have made this relationship priority, then ask and receive all of what Abba Father desires to give you. His Word is absolute.

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:33 NKJV

A spiritual word of warning: Do not fall into the trap of believing your faith manufactures the answers to your requests. This is a form of idolatry and witchcraft. Your faith simply connects you to God’s already existing promises. God, and God alone, is the wellspring of all answers.

To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 5:11 NKJV
