Greetings in The Name of Jesus Christ, Eternal Life,
- Personal sin allows the enemy to bring physical sickness and infirmity.
For he who eats or drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgement to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep. 1 Corinthians 11:29-30 NKJV
2. The sins of the fathers allow the enemy to bring physical sickness and infirmity.
And the Lord struck the child that Uriah’s wife bore to David, and it became ill. 2 Samuel 12:15b NKJV
3. The sins of a nation allow the enemy to bring physical sickness and infirmity.
and said, ” If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.” Exodus 15:26 NKJV
4. During the discipline or judgement of God, on His children, God will allow the enemy to bring physical sickness and infirmity.
So the anger of the Lord was aroused against them, and He departed. And when the cloud departed from above the tabernacle, suddenly Miriam became leprous, as white as snow. Then Aaron turned toward Miriam and there she was, a leper. Numbers 12:9-10 NKJV
5. God allows the enemy to bring periods of physical sickness and infirmity for His testing purposes. While the test is in progress, God is often silent about His purposes.
And the Lord said to Satan, ” Behold he is in your hand, but spare his life.” So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord, and struck Job with painful boils from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head. Job 2:6-7 NKJV
6. Demonic spirits cause physical sickness and infirmity.
And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, ” Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.” Luke 13:11-12 NKJV
7. In rare incidences, the Lord will allow the enemy to attack in the flesh to keep a servant from pride over his spiritual maturity.
And less I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelation, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. 2 Corinthians 12:7 NKJV
Scripture alludes to four other avenues by which the enemy can bring physical infirmity. 1. sins of excess ( gluttony) 2. spiritual attacks by wicked men ( curses) 3. fallen creation 4. dark technology ( technology that tries to mitigate the God-placed curses given after the fall or manipulate God’s creative order)
