Greetings in The Name of Jesus Christ, The Faithful Witness,
Troubleshooting
In this letter, we will continue our discussion of sensory portals that can open and lead us into sinful behaviors. The aroma gate is our next sense gateway.
He put the gold altar in the tabernacle of meeting in front of the veil; and he burned sweet incense on it, as the Lord had commanded Moses. Exodus 40:26-27 NKJV
Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel’s hand. Revelation 8:3-4 NKJV
In both Testaments of The Holy Scriptures we find the burning of incense. This burning is associated with the offering of sacrifices, worship, and prayers of the righteous. In today’s modern church structure, very few still offer incense. In those church structures that do, this worship has been hijacked by religion and ritual. The true burning of incense should be a holy expression of worship unto The One And True God.
Then Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer and put fire in it, put incense on it, and offered profane fire before the Lord, which He had not commanded them. Leviticus 10:1 NKJV
Then Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, on the hill that is east of Jerusalem, and for Molech the abomination of the people of Ammon. And he did likewise for all his foreign wives, who burned incense and sacrificed to their gods. 1 Kings 11:7-8 NKJV
These, and other scriptures, warn of the inappropriate burning of incense. This offering may be a reflection of an improper attitude on the part of the participant or the actual giving of worship to dark entities, knowingly or unknowingly.
In our burning of incense, we desire purity and freedom before The Most High. If you are one who offers incense, know the source of your incense and who you are burning unto. Our spiritual enemies are relentless in their pursuit of access to you and me.
But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3 NKJV
