LETTER XLI

Greetings in The Name of Jesus Christ, The Same, yesterday, today, and forever,

Troubleshooting

As we continue to address obstacles to our abundant life in Christ, we will delve into our sensory gateways. Sensory gateways are portals for temptation.

I will set nothing wicked before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not cling to me. Psalms 101:3 NKJV

” But I say to you that whoever looks at a women to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Matthew 5:28 NKJV

” The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. ” But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness! Matthew 6:22-23 NKJV

This letter will delve into the “eye gate”. All that passes through our field of vision, passes into our spirit, soul, and body. This journey represents the eye gate. The chief destroyers of intimacy with Christ, in today’s culture, are the sins of the eye gate. Our twenty-four hour electronic media bombardment is the chief perpetrator of these sins.

Pornography, graphic violence, and undiluted Satanism, are easily discerned in this visual arena. Despite their easy identity, many professing christians, on a regular basis, allow these visuals to penetrate their eye gate. These are not innocent savorings. If we are willfully choosing to watch these presentations then in God’s eyes we are willing participants in the sins of those we are viewing. We are guilty of “their” sins.

The first consequence of eye gate sinning is a quick descent into lukewarmness. Other consequences are often delayed and may not seem to be associated with these transgressions. They come never the less. Many of our anxieties, fears and phobias, are the result of these wrongdoings. Numerous physical problems can also result from sins of the eye gate.

In addition to obvious sinful material presented in electronic media presentation, there is a not so easily perceived coercive spirit of the world. There is also an intentional attempt to spiritually pollute. This is orchestrated at the highest levels by principalities and powers and their human lackeys.

New and young believers, in our modern culture, are not often spiritually sensitive to the sins of the eye gate. If you are a true follower of Christ, your maturity will eventually be marked by a steady diminishing need for the visual temptations of this world. Our contentment comes from quiet fellowship with our Father. Time spent in His remarkable creation satisfies our need for visualization.

I encourage you brothers and sisters, guard your eye gate.

Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 2 Timothy 2:22 NKJV

your brother in Christ,

P.S. Jesus Christ is coming soon
