Greetings in The Name of Jesus Christ, The Resurrection and The Life,
Most born again christians try to deal with the old man ( the soul ) by trying to overcome him. We try to read The Bible and pray more. We try to attend church and all of the latest conferences. We try to discipline the old man and promise our selves that when I get stronger I will master him. Sound familiar? Now, how does God deal with the old man?
knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. Romans 6:6-7 NKJV
The way God deals with the old you is by doing away with him all together. God, in His infinite wisdom, power, and foresight, crucified our old man with Christ. Of all of the numerous burdens that the Son of Man had to bare on the cross, He also bore you. It is already done! It is already finished! Your old nature is dead.
“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Galatians 2:20 NKJV
Our approach from this point forward is to daily thank The Father for doing away with my old man and to reckon myself dead to him.
Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:11 NKJV
How do you reckon yourself dead to sin? When the old man comes calling and tries to exert influence, simply voice out loud that he is dead and you are new and alive in Christ.
In God’s eyes, the old man is dead. In our reality and immaturity, we struggle with the “working out” of the fact that the carnal man is dead. When one is born again, a life long process is initiated of denying the old man and living in the new man.
To summarize, when one is born again, the spirit is made brand new and righteous. We also now recognize our soul was crucified on the cross with Christ. We now except the scriptural truth about our soul and reckon our old man, dead. In future letters, we will go into detail and the practicality of how this is daily accomplished.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Revelation 22:21 NKJV
your brother in Christ
P.S. Jesus Christ is coming soon
