Greetings in the Name of Jesus Christ,

Welcome to ” Letters To The Modern Church .” It is my prayer that these letters will awaken you to the reality and abundance of your life in Christ. One could also title this blog ” Letters To The Modern Christian. ” The church is simply the body of people called out of the world and into new life in Christ.

When I look at the modern church, ” the called out ones, ” I am saddened by the great disconnect between the everyday lives of most believers and the abundant life so clearly promised and revealed in The Holy Scriptures. Here, in the twilight of human history, many christians are asleep and defeated spiritually, physically, mentally, and emotionally.

” The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. John 10:10 NKJV

Most christians are experiencing the reality of the first portion of this verse when we should be living in ” The Truth ” of the second part. This statement by Jesus Christ is staggering! Are you living an abundant life? What is an abundant life? I will give you a little hint. Read Galatians 2:20. The abundant life is actually Christ, through the person of The Holy Spirit, living in you. He alone can live the christian life.

Now, if you are not born again, there is no abundant life available. You must be born again.

” Jesus answered and said to him, ” Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3 NKJV

How is one born again?

  1. You must realize and admit you are a sinner and in need of saving. Ask the Holy Spirit to convict you of your unrighteousness. Romans 3:23
  2. Understand there are eternal consequences for your sin. Romans 6:23, Revelation 21:8
  3. Acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the only way to be saved. John 14:6
  4. Understand that salvation is a gift and you cannot earn it. Ephesians 2:8
  5. Confess all known sin to God and ask Him to forgive you. 1 John 1:9
  6. Repent of your sin. This means, that by an act of your will, you choose to turn from your sin. Matthew 4:17
  7. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. Say out loud, ” Jesus you are Lord ” Romans 10:9-10
  8. Believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead. Say out loud, ” God, I believe you raised Jesus from the dead. ” Romans 10:9-10
  9. With a sincere heart, ask Jesus to save you. He will. Romans 10:13

God cannot lie and The Scriptures are true. If you followed the scriptural steps listed above, you are now born again. Whatever emotions you may or may not have felt are irrelevant. You are saved . The Word of God is true. Thank Jesus every day for saving you. Welcome to the abundant life. Your first act of obedience is to be baptized in water. This demonstrates to others you have died to your old way of life and to the world and shows your resurrection to new life in Christ.

This web site was birthed to help engineer a firm foundation for your christian walk and to help bridge the gap between your present life and the life Jesus Christ died to provide. This foundation is anchored on the unchangeable Word of God. This blog is written in letter form and the letters are written in sequential order. Each letter builds upon the previous. ( See Letters heading at top of page.) At the bottom of each letter( and this page) you will also find a daily audio note. This audio will cover the material of the letter but will often provide additional material as The Spirit leads.

In closing this introduction, I will leave you, my brothers and sisters in Christ, a reminder of who your Heavenly Father is.

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40: 28-31 NKJV
